THE BLOG

Over the past months, many of you have reached out with questions about my experience, my learnings, and practical tips from self-employment.
I truly appreciate this exchange.

And it encouraged me to share these insights more regularly, from the inside.
Below you find all my videos in which I share my experiences.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥: 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩
Five key lessons I have learned, shared with the intent that some of them can make your path a little smoother. Experience will bring its own lessons anyway.

👑 Trust your vision, because no one will carry it for you.
It is your business and your dream. You are the one who has to believe in it and understand it.
Keep your eyes on the vision, get things done, and just do it.

👑 Expect that everyone will suddenly become an expert in your field.
The German word “Rat-Schlag” says it well. Advice can come with a hidden punch. Trust your instinct and listen to those who are where you want to be.

👑 Do not overshare, and protect what is still in the making.
Some things need time to grow. Protect them until they are ready.

👑 Value authentic and loyal partners, and keep them close.
The right people show up once you start walking your path. I cannot fully explain why, but it happens.
And when you find your trusted circle, take very good care of it.

👑 Accept that storms do not always come from the outside.

Sometimes a storm comes from unexpected directions. It can hurt and it can shake you.
Give yourself 30 seconds to cry, be angry, then move on.
Always make sure your crown stays bright and steady through every storm.
Learning from others can spare you unnecessary pain, and personal experience will still teach the lessons that matter most.

Getting ready for Davos

Walking through the forest, surrounded by a mystical aura created by fog and snow, is not so different from the feeling I usually get at the World Economic Forum, to a certain extent.
I still have not figured out everything. It remains a bit of a mystery to me to this day, but every year I get a little better.

In my view, what makes this global convention in the middle of the mountains different from many others is the sheer possibility of meeting extraordinary people from around the world and learning from their knowledge and experience, all within one week, in one serene place.
Before I leave for this exciting week, I have decided to share a few experiences I have gained over the last years and and a few insights that would have helped me earlier.

Here are a few reflections that I offer as guidance, especially for those who are going for the first time:

🌍 The event landscape is wide. A single overview rarely exists. Many events run in parallel. Some require prior registration. Others are invitation only. Some happen because someone brings you along. Flexibility helps, and so does a readiness to say yes at the right moment.

🌎 Registration for an event does not always guarantee access on site. Overbookings are not the exception. Make sure you arrive a little early.

🌏 Do not underestimate the train rides. Some of my best conversations of the entire week have happened there. Treat travel as part of the experience.

🌐 Stay open and speak with people outside your own industry. Each event has its own energy, and each conversation can challenge you, ground you, or open a door you did not even know existed. This is the beauty of the annual forum in Davos: you get to meet people with whom you would normally never cross paths.
Let the drive to learn be your guide as well.

🌐 Last but not least: have your business cards and your LinkedIn and WhatsApp details ready. Keep them with you at all times. At the WEF, things sometimes move fast.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in Davos this week. Let us meet and have a fabulous conversation.

The perfect moment will not come.

Period.

If you feel what you want to do, if it tingles in your fingers to go for a new job, start martial arts, or, as in my case, open your own business, ask yourself one question:

What is holding you back?

Last week at the World Economic Forum, I heard this message again and again. And it still cannot be repeated enough.
Because this is the truth: there is no perfect moment.

If you want something deeply, if you know it is your dream, take the first step.

Yes, it is frightening. No one will tell you that it is easy, because it usually is not. But if you do not move, you may miss the opportunity.

And here is the part people often forget: you do not need the full plan.
You will figure out the rest as you go.

Standing at Schatzalp and looking back at last year’s WEF, I realised how much this applies to me as well. I felt it and I started. Only afterwards did my mind kick in, listing every risk and every scenario.
And yet, I figured it out.

One year ago, I was still learning how to walk this new path. My path. I was improvising more than I was leading. And to be honest, I was running around like a headless chicken.

This year, I am calmer. I can pause. I can enjoy being here. And that makes me proud. It shows me that I have grown.

That is how the process unfolds.
It looks different for everyone.
But life, in my experience, reveals a way once you start following what you truly want to do.

So, no more excuses.
Start. Take the first step.

And remember: you are not alone. I did it, and I am telling you: You can do it too.
Because I am proud of all of you entrepreneurs out there, I captured a few impressions from the World Economic Forum for you. If my reflections are not what you came for, simply enjoy the landscape.

Polish your crown. Hold your head high. Move forward.
